Earned Income Tax

The Earned Income Tax (EIT) rate in Neshannock Township is 1%. Earned Income Tax is the 1% tax you pay on your wages earned to the community where you live.

Employers are responsible for having all employees fill out a "Residency Certification Form", which includes Political Subdivision District (PSD) Codes for the community where you live, as well as the community where you work. The PSD code for Neshannock Township is 370401. PSD codes for communities can be found on the PA Department of Community & Economic Development website.

Local Services Tax (LST)

The Township’s Local Services Tax (or LST) helps to provide revenue for police, fire, and emergency services; road construction and maintenance; and the reduction of property taxes for residents.  The tax is applicable to businesses located in the Township’s designated Central Business District.  As of January 2020, the Neshannock’s LST was 42.00 for the Township and 10.00 for Neshannock Township School District. 

The Township's LST is collected by Berkheimer and Associates - P.O. Box 25156, Lehigh Valley, PA 18002.

Real Estate Tax Rate

The 2022 Real Estate Tax Rate is 2.85, including the Township's Fire Tax.

Real Estate Discount, Face and Penalty Payment Periods

  • Township Discount Period: March 1st through April 30th
  • Township Face Period: May 1st through June 30th
  • Township Penalty Period: July 1st through December 31st
  • School Period: July 1st through August 31st
  • School Face Period: September 1st through October 31st
  • School Penalty Period: November 1st through December 31st

Real Estate Delinquent Taxes (Previous Years)

Real Estate taxes not paid in the year billed are filed with Lawrence County Tax Claim Bureau for further collection.  To obtain your delinquent balance, please call 724-656-2125.

Paying Your Real Estate Taxes

Tax payments can be dropped off in the counter slot at the Tax Office during regular Township business hours.  After 4:00 pm, tax payments can be left in the Night Deposit Box, which is located to the left of the main office doors at the Municipal Complex.
