Neshannock Township School District

So many great things happening in the Neshannock community.  Our school district is a major asset for the Township, so let’s take a minute to highlight the extraordinary things that are happening there –

NHS is the Best

Neshannock Junior-Senior High School earned high National and metro-area rankings in 2022 Best High Schools by US News.  Coming in at number one, Neshannock Junior-Senior High School continues to be the top ranked high school in Lawrence County and among the top 100 high schools in Pennsylvania (92).

The highest ranked U.S. public schools in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best High Schools rankings are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions.

Congrats to NTSD for ranking among the top 15% in the State and Nation, and the top 4% in Reading in the Nation!

Neshannock Pre-K Program

The NTSD Board of School Directors approved a pilot Pre-K program for the 2022-2023 school year. This full-day, full-week, tuition-based program is targeted to four-year old children.  Though this is a new program, it will feature the District’s long tradition and commitment to excellence. Online registration will open at 9:45 am on Monday, May 16. The twenty available seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

In addition to hosting the Pre-K program, the District will continue to partner with LCCAP in offering a Pre-K Counts classroom in Neshannock Memorial Elementary School for qualifying students. Families may learn more about Pre-K Counts by calling LCCAP at (724) 658-7258.

Top Athletes

Twenty WPIAL girls basketball players earned all-state honors, and Neshannock’s Luann Grybowski was named Class 2A Coach of the Year after leading the Lancers to a state championship this winter. The state title was the first for Neshannock, and it came in Grybowski’s 42nd season as a coach. She celebrated her 700th career win in January, a milestone reached previously by only two other girls coaches in WPIAL history.

Nine WPIAL players earned first-team honors, including Neshannock teammates Neleh Nogay and Mairan Haggerty, who guided the Lancers to a 29-2 record. Nogay, a senior, averaged 12.4 points. Haggerty, a junior, averaged 17.1.

Congratulations to Coach G, Neleh, and Mairan!  We’re so proud of you!
